How it works

Four steps from DBF file to SQL table

1

Load or build a config

Start from a saved .cfg conversion configuration or create a new one.

2

Select the formats

Choose DBF as the input and SQL Server as the output. Any of the nine supported formats can be input or output.

3

Map the fields

Auto-map by name, or assign any input field to any output field manually.

4

Convert

Click Convert. Save the configuration so the next run is one click.

What you get

Built for real migrations, not just one-off imports

Field-level mapping

Map any input field to any output field. The converter handles truncation, padding and the 10-character DBF field name limit automatically.

Filter before you convert

Match on equals, not-equals, LIKE patterns, numeric comparisons or empty fields, and combine rules with AND / OR.

Works with your SQL Server

Connects to on-premises SQL Server (2012 and later), SQL Server Express and Azure SQL Database through ODBC Driver 17 or later. Windows Authentication is supported for SQL Server.

Large files

Built for high-volume batch work, with conversions of 100,000+ records per pass.

Table management built in

Create, drop, rename and truncate tables visually, manage indexes, and view, insert, update and delete records. A production-server flag makes destructive actions require a typed confirmation. No SSMS needed.

Schedule it

Run file-to-SQL and SQL-to-file conversions from the command line with no GUI, then schedule them as Windows batch jobs. SQL-to-SQL is not supported in headless mode.

Beyond DBF

One tool for the rest of your data, too

The same workflow converts between DBF, SDF, CSV, Microsoft Access, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, XML and Excel (XLSX), in any combination. Questions

DBF to SQL Server: common questions

Does it work with Azure SQL?

Yes. SQL Server mode connects to Azure SQL Database, on-premises SQL Server and SQL Server Express using ODBC Driver 17 or later.

Does it support Windows Authentication?

Yes, for SQL Server. MySQL connections require SQL credentials.

Can I also export from SQL Server back to DBF?

Yes. You can convert between any combination of the nine supported formats, so SQL Server to DBF works the same way.

Do I need to write SQL?

No. Mapping and conversion are visual. If you want to run your own queries there is also a free-form SQL query tool, but it is optional.

Is my data uploaded anywhere?

No. It is a native Windows desktop application (Windows 10 and 11, 64-bit). Files are processed on your own computer.

Can I try it first?

Yes. The free trial lasts 14 days with no credit card. It is the Standard edition, limited to 20 conversions of the first 500 records each, and it can be used once. Purchases carry a 30-day money-back guarantee.
